CHARACTERS

NINA:

Nina works at Gold Coin Laundromat. She is single, lonely and except answering laundry related questions to the laundromat customers, she has almost no interactions with anyone in her life.

Nina has had an unpleasant childhood. Despite her desire to be “someone” someday, she has been neglected and ignored by everyone around her. Because of this, her spirit to follow her dreams has died and she has turned into a low-aiming cynic.

Whenever she indulges in relationships, her loneliness and negativity turn into insecurity, and she becomes excessively needy. This repels her partners and the relationships end sadly.

As a result she is ‘Closed for Business’ as far as new relationships are concerned.

MATTHEW:

Matthew is a paralegal in a law firm that specializes in Personal Injury. He is very outgoing and has skipped grades in his childhood. He has a very ambitious demeanor and friendly disposition.

Matthew is a keen observer and likes to analyze things around him and connect them together to form an unspoken explanation.

Matthew can aggressively start working for a cause if he feels it is needed. He can overlook his personal responsibilities in the desire to help someone out.

ALLYSON:

Allyson is an Associate Attorney in the Merck law firm. She is Matthew’s boss. Allyson, like Matthew, is an ambitious woman. She has very charming looks and is very good with words.

Allyson has critical thoughts about slow people or people who are not sufficiently productive. She thinks that they are a liability and should be ignored.

Also, Allyson has a crush on Matthew. Matthew realizes it, but decides to not respond to it when Allyson suggests of it. He wants their relationship to be platonic.

BRUTUS:

Brutus is an American Pit Bull Terrier and is a pet to Bill, Matthew’s neighbor. Brutus is a very active and friendly dog who loves to play. But if locked in a room and not fed, Brutus can become excessively neurotic and needy.
