Need is a statement about the ostracizing of certain emotional types from modern “productive” society. It tries to massage that inner muscle of the human heart which governs concern, acceptance and love for all.
It projects the downward spiral problem that leads perfectly normal people into an existence where they are forced to develop an emotional state which is over-exhausting to their partners. This state is technically known as the 'Dependant Personality Disorder' and it generally goes untreated because its victims are harmless to others.
The general response to people in these circumstances (the “needy” ones) is neglect, indifference and abandonment, which just aggravates the problem they are in. They are considered as a liability on society.
The victims however suffer greatly the rejections and humiliations, relationship after relationship, not really knowing how to get out of their condition.
Need gives a new window of hope to people in these situations and gives a new avenue of activities to people who can help. Just a little attention and work can help them come out of their troubles and mix with the greater society.
It is all of us that form a society. And every element in the society is as important as the other; If not functionally, then righteously.
