THE MISSION
The medium of film has always been fascinating to me because of its ability to influence people. Even when it simply imitates life, film has been widely used as a tool to propagate fashion, style and behavior. It has also been used to expose, to the people at large, things that are known to a chosen few, and hidden in faraway places.
Somehow in my life, I have been given opportunities to help emotionally frail individuals. People struggling with depression, neediness, anxiety, etc. Fortunately, I have been able to help several of them out of it and they have confidently fit themselves into the "normal" social structure.
I had such an acquaintance come to me in July 2007, but since I was working, I couldn’t give him the time he needed. I told others that he desperately needed help, but no one had time for him. The result? One night, three days after we met, he jumped off the roof of our building.
If I would have spent the time with him, he would probably be alive today.
Circumstances can be bad, and they can be bad for everyone, but our attitude towards our circumstances decides how we become and what we end up with. Life is not cheap. NOBODY’S life is cheap. If watered properly, life can blossom.
Thus, my desire is to help those who need help, and to make aware and educate those who can help.
I can’t close my eyes to the truth; neither can I turn my back.
Another thing that I have always held close to my heart: “The Art-form is just the carrier of the consciousness of the artist to the audience. It doesn’t mean anything in and of itself.” Have a machine draw a picture and let’s see how many people “feel” it.
I like to open this opportunity to all those who can help and collaborate in this cause, and engage their talents and abilities in making these projects a success.
Thank you very much.
